Frank Riccio, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

Frank Riccio, a lifelong resident of Greenwich died of heart failure, surrounded by family on Monday at Stamford Hospital. He was 86 years old.

Riccio was born on June 14, 1924 at Greenwich Hospital and attended Greenwich schools. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1942. He enjoyed playing softball and was an enthusiastic fan of 1940's Big Band Music. Riccio worked for Pepperidge Farm for more than 30 years as a route driver and later as a retail store manager. In his retirement he developed a love of gardening and was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and University of Connecticut Basketball Teams. He enjoyed travel with family to Ireland and for many years wintered in Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Riccio is survived by his wife Mary Anne Barrett, of Spidal, Ireland; son Frank J. Riccio and wife Cheryl of Old Greenwich; daughters Mary Riccio and husband Paul Boison of Rocky Hill and Anne Regnery and her husband John of Newtown; and four grandchildren.

Family and friends may call at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, located at 31 Arch Street in Greenwich from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, located at 4 Riverside Ave in Riverside. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
