Fewer Vote in Greenwich Than in 2009

GREENWICH, Conn. – The election turnout Tuesday in Greenwich was 35 percent, or 11,942 of 33,893 registered voters, the registrars of voters reported. That compared with 37.2 percent, or 13,395 of 36,982 registered voters, in the 2009 municipal election. 

Riverside (District 5) and Old Greenwich (District 6) producted the largest turnout,  45 percent and 43 percent respectively. The lowest turnout was in Chickahominy (District 3) and the Northwest part of town (District 10), with 28 percent each.

Here is the full breakdown of polling districts in Greenwich:

•District 1 (South Center): 905 of 2,634 registered voters, about 34 percent

•District 2 (Harbor): 736 of 2,128 registered voters, about 35 percent

•District 3 (Chickahominy): 384 of 1,389 registered voters, about 28 percent

•District 4 (Byram): 768 of 2,415 registered voters, about 32 percent

•District 5 (Riverside): 1,246 of 2,767 registered voters, about 45 percent

•District 6 (Old Greenwich): 1,244 of 2,873 registered voters or about 43 percent

•District 7 (North Center): 900 of 2,942 registered voters, about 31 percent

•District 8 (Cos Cob): 1,508 of 3,859 registered voters, about 39 percent

•District 9 (Pemberwick-Glenville): 1,028 of 2,945 registered voters, about 35 percent

•District 10 (Northwest): 882 of 3,143 registered voters, about 28 percent

•District 11 (Northeast): 1,098 of 3,597 registered voters, about 31 percent

•District 12 (Havemeyer): 1,243 of 3,201 registered voters, about 39 percent
