Family Reunion Turns Violent

At a family reunion Sunday on South New Street, a Greenwich youth was arrested after a verbal argument turned violent. The teenager had allegedly been drinking and instigated a fight with family members at the reunion. The teen became violent and hit another family member in the face, causing a laceration on the person's nose. Officers arrested the youth and issued a misdemeanor summons on charges of disorderly conduct. The juvenile was released on a promise to appear in court Monday.

• Angel Nieves, 48, of 250 E. Gun Hill Road, the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested on a warrant Monday as a result of an investigation of a burglary at an establishment in central Greenwich. Nieves was arrested on charges of first-degree larceny, second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary and fifth-degree larceny. He was held on a $20,000 bond and was to appear in court Tuesday.

• Philip Giorgi, 25, of 120 Dundee Road, Stamford, was arrested Saturday on DWI charges. Giorgi had been driving over the speed limit as he traveled north on Pemberwick Road when officers stopped him. Officers smelled alcohol on Giorgi and subjected him to field sobriety tests. He failed tests and was arrested on charges of DWI and traveling unreasonably fast. He posted his $250 bond and is due in court Oct. 4.
