U.S. Secret Service Special Agent John Cook and a member of the Connecticut Financial Crimes Task Force met with local merchants for a Financial Crimes Seminar on Wednesday night hosted by the Greenwich Police Department.
The police department geared the seminar toward business owners to educate them on current trends in counterfeit currency and credit card frauds and to provide tips on reducing financial crimes against merchants. Greenwich Police Detective Mark Solomon, winner of the 2010 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award winner from the Connecticut Chapter of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators, attended the seminar.
