Ex-Greenwich Property Manager Arrested Again

A former Greenwich property manager was arrested Wednesday on charges of stealing from the management company he worked for.

This is the second time 33-year-old Michael Orr of East Longmeadow, Mass., has been arrested in connection with his employment at the Greenwich Shore apartments. In January, he was charged with eight burglaries at the complex, which is located at 124 Ritch Ave.

In the most recent case, Orr requested checks from his employer, Consolidated Management Group, claiming they were for security deposit refunds. He requested the checks, amounting to $5,275, in the names of two people who had never been tenants at the complex. He allegedly received the checks and debited the company’s account.

During the time Orr managed the apartments, from January 2009 to September 2010, dozens of thefts were reported. In September, Orr was arrested on drug charges and investigators found several of the stolen items in his home.

In January, Orr was arrested on eight counts of third-degree burglary, five counts of third-degree larceny, one count of second-degree larceny, two counts of third-degree larceny and one count of fourth-degree larceny.

On Wednesday, he was charged with third-degree larceny and fourth-degree larceny. He was held on $5,000 bond and is due in court April 5.
