Erna Stover, Owned Widmann's Bakery

Erna Stover, a Greenwich resident who owned Widmann's Bakery, died at Greenwich Hospital on Jan. 15. She was 80 and was better known as Ann or MiMi.

Stover was born in Wedel, Germany, and immigrated to the United States in 1954. She became a U.S. citizen in 1961. Stover and her husband, Gustav, owned and operated Widmann's Bakery, which was on Greenwich Avenue for many years. After their retirement from the bakery in 1978, the couple open a Christmas farm called, Stover's Christmas Tree Farm, in Stone Ridge, N.Y.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gustav Stover of Greenwich; daughter Angela Hinchcliff and husband Dick of Westport; and son Ron Stover and wife Cecilia Fabrizio of Hong Kong; sister Elke Behrmann of Germany; and three grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, to be followed by a memorial service, all at Knapp's Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich.
