Edward Daly, Advertising Exec, Avid Golfer

Edward Albert Daly of Greenwich, a longtime advertising executive and avid golfer, died Dec. 11 after a brief illness at Greenwich Hospital. He was 84.

Daly went to the Brunswick School and graduated from Yale University. He served in the 1st Marine Corps Division in China during World War II. Daly spent his career working in advertising and marketing, beginning at SSC&B Lintas advertising agency and representing publications, including Life and Smithsonian magazines.

He was a longtime member of the Round Hill Country Club in Greenwich and was also "D1" at Belle Haven Club, one of the longest held memberships. A member of the Brook Club in New York, he also loved jazz and Westies.

He is survived by his wife, Penelope Kapp Daly; children, Susie Johnson, Scott McGowan, Dana Noonan, Dina Delani, Mindy Green, Mark Daly and Brooke Daly; first wife Michelle Campbell; sister Eugenie H. Voorhees; and many grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Round Hill Community Church, 395 Round Hill Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kent School, P.O. Box 2006, Kent, CT 06757.
