Riverside resident Edson A. Farqui, a professional engineer who worked for Philips Electronics for 30 years, died Monday, Dec. 6, at Greenwich Hospital. He was 59 years old.
Farqui was born in Santos, Brazil, and attended the University of Sao Paulo, where he received a bachelors degree in engineering and a master's degree in music. His career at Philips took him to the Netherlands, California and New York. He was also an accomplished pianist and regularly attended concerts at Carnegie Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ana Cristina; two children, Christiane and Paulo; a brother, Evaldo; a sister, Edna, and five nieces and nephews. A mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Order of Malta.
