Driver Who Fled Found Drunk

A Port Chester, N.Y., man who fled the scene of a Merritt Parkway car crash Monday was found nearby at Connecticut Wine & Liquors, where he appeared to be intoxicated. Police said the motorist, Samuel Hernandez, 32, of 40 Grace Church St., failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on DUI charges. He was released to the custody of Connecticut State Police to face additional motor vehicle charges. He is due in court on the DUI charge Oct. 1.

? A 16-year-old girl was arrested Sunday after her parents reported her unruly behavior to police. During an argument with one of the parents, the girl broke two phones. She was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. She was issued a juvenile summons to appear in court on Tuesday.

? During a motor vehicle stop for a defective headlight, Lavar Jamal Ferguson, 33, of 8 Peck Ave. in Greenwich was arrested for possession of crack cocaine. When he stopped Ferguson Thursday, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. While searching the car, officers found a ziplock bag containing suspected crack cocaine in Ferguson’s right shoe. Ferguson was released on a $5,000 bond and is due in court on Wednesday.
