Driver Arrested with Marijuana on Palmer

A Stamford man was arrested Tuesday night on Palmer Hill Road in Greenwich after revealing to police he had marijuana in his car's console. Joseph A. Coscarelli, 21, of 47 Hillside Ave., was driving a blue Nissan on Valley Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign when turning onto Palmer. When stopped by police, the officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Coscarelli opened his console and pulled out two plastic baggies of marijuana.

He was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana less than 4 ounces, operating a motor vehicle under suspension and failure to obey a stop sign. He was issued a misdemeanor summons and is due in court Oct. 27.

• Alberto Berrio, 29, of 56 Bertolf Road, Greenwich, was arrested Wednesday on charges of violation of probation. After the Stamford Office of Adult Probation completed an arrest warrant for Berrio, Greenwich police went to Berrio's home and arrested him. He was released on a $10,000 bond and is due in court Oct. 27.
