Clara M. Peabody, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died at her home Sept. 8. She was born in Port Chester on Aug. 3, 1930, to the late Marius and Sigrid Jensen.
Peabody graduated from Greenwich High School and was studying to become a nurse when she decided to devote her life to raising a family and creating a home. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking. Peabody also spent time swimming with friends at the Tully Health Center in Stamford.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, David; her children, Karin Peabody, George Peabody, Laurie Peabody and David Jr.; two sisters, Marion Golba and Barbara Lynch; and two grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private. Arrangements are through the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home in Greenwich.
