Celebrate Police Day in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Join the Greenwich Police officers Saturday for a morning of  demonstrations, events for kids and tours of the Public Safety Complex as the department celebrates Police Day. The celebration is part of National Police Week.

You can check out new police vehicles, meet the men and women sworn to serve the Greenwich community, and watch operational demonstrations by the K-9 unit and other special teams. There will be guided tours of the Greenwich Public Safety Complex every half hour throughout the day. The department will also introduce its new smartphone application, according to Police Chief James Heavey.

For the kids, there will be free hot dogs, a bouncy castle and other events. The Greenwich Police Honor Guard and the Police Explorers will assist Cub Scouts with a special U.S. flag workshop.

Police Day will take place Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Safety Complex, 1 Bruce Place off Greenwich Avenue.
