Byram Man Charged With Endangering Mother

GREENWICH, Conn. – A 22-year-old Byram man was arrested following an incident with his mother, police said.

The mother was driving a car with her son in the front seat, police said, when he attempted to shut the car off while it was driving and grabbed his mother by the collar. Police saw the car parked on West Putnam Avenue at the corner of Pemberwick Road, with the man leaning over the driver.

When they attempted to arrest him, police said, the man tried to flee by jumping over a guardrail and ended up scuffling with officers. While officers brought the man to police headquarters, he kicked out a rear window of the car, they said.

He was issued a summons for criminal mischief, breach of peace, interfering with an officer and reckless endangerment. He was released and is due in court Monday.
