Lifelong Greenwich resident Augustus C. Frederick Sr. died Nov. 17 at the age of 94. Frederick was born in East Port Chester, N.Y., in April 1916 and moved to town with his parents shortly after.
He graduated from Greenwich High School and was a longtime employee of Borden milk. In his spare time, Frederick enjoyed gardening and reading about world history.
Frederick is survived by his wife of 75 years, Una McDonough Frederick; sons, John, Robert, Thomas and Augustus Jr.; daughters, Nancy Hastie and Eunice Frederick; and 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at noon today at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road. Memorial donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, 4 Horseneck Lane, Greenwich, CT 96830.
