Astronomy Day, Concerts This Weekend in Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Hey Greenwich, are you looking for something fun to do this weekend? Check out some of the family-friendly events coming up:

Friday, Feb. 10

• 6 – 9 p.m. – Middle school members of the Boys and Girls Club can swim, participate in game room tournaments and dodge ball games on Fridays at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich; call 203-869-3224 for more information.

• 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. – Free exhibit tours with price of admission at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich; call 203-869-6786 for more information.

• 8 – 10 p.m. – Greenwich Library Friends Friday Films presents “Bill Cunningham,” a portrait of the uptown/downtown fashion photographer Bill Cunningham. Free; doors open at 7:40 p.m.

• All Day – Coming Full Circle: The Greenwich Art Society Celebrates 100 at the Bruce Museum, on view through April 1.

Saturday, Feb. 11

• All Day – Love Your Library Bookmark Contest – Design a bookmark for the Greenwich Library, Cos Cob Library, or Byram Library and enter the bookmark contest through Feb. 18. Entry forms and paper can be picked up at each location.

• 9:30 a.m. – YWCA Greenwich charcoal sketching and pastel class with Jo Ann O’Hara at the Gertrude White Gallery, for ages 5 and up. Registration is ongoing; call 203-869-6501 for more information.

• 4 p.m. – Stratus Chamber Players will present an afternoon concert of chamber music at Christ Church Greenwich, 254 E. Putnam Ave.; $25 adults, $20 seniors, $10 children. Call 857-488-0377 for more information.

Sunday, Feb. 12

• 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Walkers, joggers, and cyclists can enjoy open roads at Greenwich Point through the Friends of Greenwich Point’s “Safe Roads Program.”

• 1 – 4 p.m. – Astronomy Family Day at the Bruce Museum, for ages 5 and up, includes activities and crafts focusing on the stars and planets, as well as shows by STARLAB Planetarium; free with museum admission.

• 2 – 3:30 p.m. – Greenwich Historical Society presents Songs from the Civil War music program and craft project at Vanderbilt Education Center; $10 members, $15 nonmembers. Call 203-869-6899 for more information.
