Anthony Armenio, Owned Apparel Firm

Anthony Armenio, a former Greenwich resident who operated his own business in the garment industry, died Nov. 12 at Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford. He was 69 years old.

After graduating from Fordham University, Armenio married his high school sweetheart, Geraldine Miller. He then served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army at Fort Ord, Calif. Armenio followed in his father's footsteps in the garment industry and opened a business with his brother, Salvatore.

During his free time, Armenio enjoyed sports, especially playing football with his seven grandchildren. He also loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 46 years, Gerri, and brother, he is survived by two daughters, Donna Turnbull and Denise Sodokoff, and his grandchildren. A Mass was held Monday, Nov. 15, at St. Michael's Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Bendheim Cancer Center in Greenwich.
