Anne "Nan" Rankin Spyrou, wife, mother and grandmother, died Sept 2. at the age of 88. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on May 18, 1922, to the late Alexander Rankin and Beatrice Ward.
From a young age, Spyrou had a love for music that she refined throughout her life. Spyrou studied to be an accountant in Glasgow, where she met her husband of 63 years, Andrew. She will be remembered by her sharp sense of humor, elegance and love of things Scottish.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Margaret; a son, Andrew, and many grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabus Episcopal Church on Lake Avenue at 2 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, family and friends are asked to make donations to the Alzheimer's Association in Spyrou's name.
