GREENWICH, Conn. Ann Burke, a nearly 30-year Greenwich resident, died Thursday in town. She was 70.
Burke was born in England on May 7, 1941, to Thomas Benson and Eileen Hullock Benson.
She was one of the first women to be a director of human resources for a public United Kingdom company and also one of the founders of Logica PLC, a public U.K. computer consulting company.
She was an international class fencer as well as an avid skier and golfer. She was an active member of St. Michaels Church and the St. Michaels Womens Association. She was a member of the Greenwich Womens Golf Association and the Course at Yale. She was an active board member and volunteer at Community Answers in the Greenwich Library until retiring.
Burke is survived by her husband, William Burke; and a brother, three nieces, and five grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Church, 469 North St., Greenwich. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michaels Church, designated for St. Theresas Sisters of the Poor.
