GREENWICH, Conn. Did you feel the earthquake? Sharon Haught at Adopt-A-Dog Greenwich was doing laundry in the kennel at the time when someone came in and said the ground had shaken. We looked at the dog in the kennel kitchen and said, Youre supposed to sense that! she said.
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake in Virginia sent tremors up the eastern seaboard and was felt in Greenwich and the rest of Fairfield County on Tuesday afternoon.
At the Adopt-A-Dog kennel, none of the dogs appeared extra nervous, said Haught. It was quiet around here at the time, so I dont know if they sensed it and reacted by getting quiet.
Otherwise, said Haught, the effects were minimal. We did discover a chair moved across the floor and a big bottle of detergent fell off of a shelf, she said. We just had our own blue lagoon to clean up.
