600-Plus In Greenwich Still Without Power

GREENWICH, Conn. – More than 600 customers in Greenwich were still without power Wednesday as of 5:30 p.m., as crews from Connecticut Light & Power continued to work to restore electricity knocked out by Tuesday’s storm.

The number reflects about 2 percent of Greenwich customers. Throughout the state, roughly 7,100 customers - or less than 1 percent - were still without power early Wednesday evening.

According to Mitch Gross, spokesman for CL&P, 2,000 people were working around the state to restore power, including crews from sister utilities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

“We experienced a numerous amount of smaller outages throughout the state as a result of Tuesday’s storm,” Gross said. “We’re continuing to push to get everyone back on line. The numbers have been dropping steadily throughout the day.”
