GREENWICH, Conn. More than 600 customers in Greenwich were still without power Wednesday as of 5:30 p.m., as crews from Connecticut Light & Power continued to work to restore electricity knocked out by Tuesdays storm.
The number reflects about 2 percent of Greenwich customers. Throughout the state, roughly 7,100 customers - or less than 1 percent - were still without power early Wednesday evening.
According to Mitch Gross, spokesman for CL&P, 2,000 people were working around the state to restore power, including crews from sister utilities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
We experienced a numerous amount of smaller outages throughout the state as a result of Tuesdays storm, Gross said. Were continuing to push to get everyone back on line. The numbers have been dropping steadily throughout the day.
