19 Greenwich Films Make Festival Finals

GREENWICH, Conn. – Nineteen films by Greenwich students have been named  finalists in the Greenwich Youth Film Festival. Final judging takes place next week by a panel that includes Hollywood director Ron Howard, a Greenwich resident.

Of 130 films submitted by private and public school students in Fairfield and Westchester counties, 36 were selected as finalists. They will be shown April 28, starting at 1 p.m. in Greenwich Library's Cole Auditorium. Tickets are free and available on the Junior League of Greenwich’s website.

The festival will also feature a presentation by Kevin Segalla, founder of the Connecticut Film Center. Five genre winners and one grand prize winner will be announced at an award ceremony following the screenings. Each genre winner will receive $500 in cash and feedback from the judges. The grand prize winner will receive an additional $1,500 and an all-expenses paid trip to visit the set of the next Two Ton Films?? production.

Judges include Ron Howard (creative), Gretchen Carlson (public service announcement), Clay Pecorin (documentary), Blue Sky Studios (animation) and Jeff Cardoni (music video). Comments from the judges about the winning films will be shared.
