Yacht Show to Dock at Harbor Hotel

Planes, yachts and automobiles will sail into the luxurious Delamar Greenwich Harbor next month for the fifth annual Greenwich Harbor Yacht Showcase.

"This year's showcase will be our best yet and should provide an incredible experience," said Stephanie Summerall, director of sales and marketing at the Delamar. "In addition to spectacular yachts, visitors will also enjoy our many land exhibits offering an eclectic mix of luxury products and services."

According to Summerall, the showcase will have a number of new elements. "One of the largest differences is that we have a lot of new land exhibitor such as Flexjet private jets to jewelry and art companies," she said. L'escale will sell food and beverages, and a biergarten will be set up.

Attendees can also get out on the water. Guests will have an opportunity to board the 12-meter vessels for a trip on Long Island Sound for $150 per person or $1,000 for 10 passengers. The Barton & Gray Mariners Club Hinckley Picnic Boat, a downeast-style lobster boat powered by a jet drive, will take customers on a one-hour champagne cruise for $500.

The Delamar will also host some of the newest and most exclusive Mercedes-Benz automobiles. The newest SL550 Night Edition, one of only 100 in the country will be on display if available.

"Community members in Greenwich care a lot about the show," said Summerall. "We have hired a production company to help us grow the event and elevate the whole show."

A kick-off preview party to benefit the 12-meter Yacht Development Foundation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 1. The event continues 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 2 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 3. Admission is charged. For tickets, visit www.thedelamar.com or call 203-531-3047.
