Utilities Donate $5K to Greenwich United Way

GREENWICH, Conn. – Connecticut Light & Power and Yankee Gas donated $5,000 to Greenwich United Way’s annual Communitywide Campaign to provide educational programming and support services to residents in need.

The grant was provided to “promote financial stability and independence” in the community. The money will help the Greenwich United Way assist people who are economically disadvantaged or who are physically or mentally challenged to become as self-sufficient or independent as they can. The money will fund educational programs, support services, job and literacy training, transportation, counseling and management services.

The Greenwich United Way is committed to targeting needs, mobilizing communities and identifying and meeting the community’s health and human service needs.

The annual communitywide fundraising campaign supports local services that aim to strengthen children and families, support seniors, foster self-sufficiency and assist individuals in crisis.
