Talkative Volunteers Invited to Help Seniors

The Greenwich Family Centers' Friendly Connections adult outreach program will host an open house Sunday, Jan. 30, at its Bridge Street offices for residents looking to volunteer this year.

Opportunities for volunteers include visiting local seniors and driving conversation during teleconference calls. Volunteers interested in enriching the lives of seniors through conversation and companionship can meet with Rebecca Lippel, Friendly Connections manager, to learn more about the programs.

Friendly Connections offers support and services to seniors living in Fairfield County who are isolated or homebound. Community volunteers make weekly phone calls and visits to their homes.

Registration is required for the open house, which will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, call Rebecca Lippel at 203-661-8841.
