Take a Trip to Calf Island off Greenwich's Coast

GREENWICH, Conn. — The Calf Island Conservancy is sponsoring two educational and recreational trips to Calf Island, a wildlife refuge in Greenwich.

The free trips will take place Saturday, July 23, and Saturday, Aug. 6, each from 10 a.m. to noon. Calf Island is a 32-acre wooded island surrounded with salt marshes, sandy beaches with dunes and rocky headlands right off the Greenwich coast. The island is part of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge operated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
