State Rep. Fred Camillo serves the 151st District in Greenwich.
In yesterday's budget debate, I stood up and spoke against the proposed Hospital Tax. The tax, which the Governor hopes to use to secure Federal dollars as well as redistribute to other hospitals with more compensated care patients, will eliminate Greenwich Hospital's surplus, funds that are used to provide programs and clinics to the needy in addition to offering quality healthcare for our community. This tax on healthcare will hurt the people who depend on services from Greenwich Hospital. It will also cause Greenwich Hospital, the biggest employer in the Town of Greenwich, to lay off employees.
Greenwich Hospital is a very important part of our community and I was proud to stand up and fight for a budget to better serve us.
