Library Shows Election Memorabilia

Greenwich resident Stanley Olszewski has put his collection of election buttons, bumper stickers and other political paraphernalia on display at the Greenwich Library. Local history librarian Carl White said Olszewski offered the items “to remind people to vote.”

The Greenwich man put the library display up himself. The  glass case displays memorabilia such as “I Like Ike” buttons, Nixon pennants and John F. Kennedy playing cards.

“We’re always looking for unique displays,” said  White.

The librarian said there was one condition to putting the collection on display. “I wanted to make sure he gave all political parties the same attention,” he said. Whatever their affiliation, political history buffs are likely to have their curiosity piqued. The collection can be found on the second floor of the Greenwich Library.
