GREENWICH, Conn. Lena Obuchowski, formerly of Greenwich, died April 3 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, Conn. She was 92.
Obuchowski worked as a spot welder for Electrolux in Greenwich for a time.
She was born in Greenwich on Nov. 23, 1919 to Ernest and Anna Belmont. Raised in Greenwich, Obuchowski moved to Stamford after marrying her husband, John. In her early years she enjoyed fishing and being part of a large family.
Obuchowski was a parishioner of St. Cecilia Church in Stamford and loved to cook and care for her vegetable and flower gardens at home. Obuchowski enjoyed watching game shows and singing Christmas carols, especially Silent Night.
She was predeceased by her husband, John V. Obuchowski; a daughter, Barbara Ann Obuchowski; eight brothers, Anthony, Albert, Renaldo, Richard, Sabatino, Orlando, Rudolph and James Belmont; and four sisters, Mary Capablo, Jean Cossuto, Josephine Carbino and Carmela Misuriello. She is survived by a son, Brian (Angela) Obuchowski, of Old Lyme, Conn.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Bosak Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Parish in Stamford. Burial will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
