Hospital Gala To Benefit ER

Always wanted to visit Tuscany in the fall? You can get a taste of Tuscany right here for Greenwich Hospital's 15th annual gala, "Under the Tuscan Sun," set for Oct. 23 at the Greenwich Country Club.

A live auction, a silent auction, a wine auction, dinner and dancing to the Starlight Orchestra are on the agenda for the evening, all in support of the hospital's Emergency Department. The round-the-clock department handles more than 4,300 visits from area residents each year.

"My family has experienced firsthand the remarkable care given by Greenwich Hospital's Emergency Department," said Sabrina Forsythe, a Greenwich resident and co-chair of event organizing committee with Lydia West. "Certainly, no one wants to be in an emergency room. But in a health crisis, I feel comfortable knowing that the experienced staff at Greenwich Hospital's Emergency Department will take exceptional care of us."

Peter B. Griffin, trustee emeritus of the hospital, will be honored at the event with the President's Award for outstanding service to the hospital.

Maria Bartiromo, a CNBC anchor, managing editor of the "Wall Street Journal Report with Maria Bartiromo" and author of the book, "The 10 Laws of Enduring Success," will host the gala.

The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Greenwich Country Club, 19 Doubling Road. Gala tickets are available at various prices: $2,500 (vice chair), $1,400 (benefactor), $1,000 (patron) and $500 (friend). Tables are available for the first three ticketing levels. For ticket information, contact Jackie Hvolbeck in the Greenwich Hospital Development Department at 203-863-3863 or at jacklyn.hvolbeck@greenwichhospital.org.
