McMahon, who owns a home in Greenwich, turns 38 on Wednesday. The businesswoman, professional wrestling valet, occasional professional wrestler, minority owner, and chief brand officer of Stamford-based WWE was born Sept. 24, 1976 in Hartford.

She entered WWE as a model for sales and merchandise, but she started her WWE career as an account executive for the sales office in New York. She has been employed with WWE, which was founded by her parents, for over 15 years. 

She began appearing regularly on WWE in 1999 as a part of a storyline with The Undertaker.

She has held the WWE Women's Championship. In 2001, she was the on-screen owner of "Extreme Championship Wrestling" during The Invasion and began appearing regularly on "Raw" in 2008 as the Raw brand general manager.

In 2010, Fairfield County Business Journal, awarded McMahon its "40 under 40" award and was also recognized as "One of the Most Powerful Women in Cable" by Cable magazine in 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013. She was also named one of Multichannel News women to watch for in 2013.

On April 6, 2013, she inducted her former on-screen rival Trish Stratus into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In mid October 2013, McMahon was named the honorary chairperson of the Special Olympics of Connecticut.
