Greenwich's Holiday List Grows

Festive lights, crowded streets and Santa with his reindeer at McArdle's Florist and Garden Center -- yes, the holiday season is in full swing in Greenwich.

Whether you prefer a trip back into history at the Bush Holly House or an evening of music, there is a varied list of family activities. To save you the time of searching town websites, here is a list of holiday events:

? Anne Gilhuly will discuss Shakespeare's "The Winter Tale" on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Perrot Memorial Library. Her talk is free. For more information, call (203) 637-3870.

? For anyone looking for a good laugh there’s "Seasons Readings," which will be performed at the Greenwich Arts Council on Thursday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

? The Fairfield University Glee Club and Chamber Singers will perform "Holiday Music Treasures" at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Friday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $10 and $15 at the door.

? "Carols by Candlelight" will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich on Saturday, Dec. 11,  at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to all.

? Santa will host a pancake breakfast at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club on Dec. 11 from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $5.

? Musica Plenti, newly appointed artists-in-residence for the Greenwich Audubon, celebrate the winter solstice on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 3 to 5 p.m.

? Friends of the Israeli Defense Force will perform "Keep the Lights Burning" at Temple Sholom on Dec. 12 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.

? The Greenwich Historical Society will host a candlelit tour of the Bush Holly House on Dec. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. Family admission is $30, adults $10, children $8. For more information, call (203) 869-6899.

? Children can "Deck the Halls" at the Greenwich Library all through December. Visitors can make snowflakes or other artworks that will be displayed through the new year.
