GREENWICH, Conn. You can showcase those singing, dancing, acting, comedic, juggling and magic skills at the third annual Greenwich Has Got Talent 2012 variety show. Final auditions for performers will be held Feb. 21.
This years variety show has turned into a competition, - the audience will pick the grand prize winner at the show, which takes place March 31 at Greenwich High School.
The show is a major fundraiser for the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce and a portion of the proceeds of the show funds a scholarship for a Greenwich High student majoring in business in college.
Maria Kelly Stevens, who has a background in professional theatre and choreography, is the show's artistic director. Bill Evans, senior meteorologist for WABC-TV and five-time Emmy-award winner, and Greenwich Chamber of Commerce board chairman Jeff Weber will emcee the show.
Every year we get incredibly talented Greenwich residents that perform great acts, said Weber. And this year, we are really excited about the earlier auditions weve seen of entertaining individuals and groups. Past performers include U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, State Sen. Scott Frantz and First Selectman Peter Tesei. All types of acts are encouraged to audition, said Marcia OKane, executive director for the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce. Whether youre a singer, dancer, comedian, musician, individual or group, or have some other unusual skill or talent, theres room for you in our great show.
Auditions will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Feb. 21, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave. Adults and students interested in auditioning should email Maria Kelly Stevens to secure a time slot.
