Greenwich Seniors Learn Art of Qigong

GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich Adult Day Care members learned elements of the Qigong practice from Daisy Lee, a celebrated instructor of the practice of balancing energy.

Lee, accompanied by friend and Tai Chi instructor Lamont Thomas, gave River House members a demonstration on the movements of Qigong, which has been found to reduce stress and lower blood pressure.

River House member Sally Carter was selected for a hands-on demonstration. “I felt more relaxed afterward," Carter said. "I really liked Daisy’s presentation. She was very helpful in teaching us Qigong.” The demonstration concluded with a Tai Chi exercise from Thomas, also known as Lao Shan, who conducts weekly classes at River House.

“Qigong brings you vitality and helps build your immune system,” Lee said. She has been teaching Qigong for more than 20 years and is certified as a Level III Advanced Qigong instructor and clinical practitioner by the National Qigong Association of America. She teaches in the United States, Canada, Europe, Costa Rica, Australia and Asia.
