Greenwich Presents Mozart's Less Talented Relative

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The world’s “most mediocre composer” and Mozart’s “less talented relative,” Wolfgang Amadeus Schmutzinberry, will perform a children’s concert at the Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium this month.

The Ashforth Children’s Concert Series presents Rami Vamos, a guitarist, composer and teaching artist for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, in the lead role.

Schmutzinberry has stumbled upon a very powerful musical composition that can heal the sick, cause the sad to laugh hysterically and make old people young again. Unfortunately, he has lost the manuscript. So he travels to America to look for it, and in the process discovers different musical styles, including folk, jazz, blues, rock and roll, and classical.

Vamos will be joined by his wife, the violinist Nurit Pact.

The Ashforth Concert Series is designed to expose children to classical music performance. The concert is free and open to the public through the support of Georgie and Henry A. Ashforth.

Free unassigned tickets, six per family, will be available for pickup at the Cole Auditorium at noon. Doors will open at 1:45 p.m. for a 2 p.m. showing on March 24.
