GREENWICH, Conn. The following is a letter by Greenwich resident and parent Penelope Kassaris in support of Board of Education candidate Anna Saras Povinelli:
As a mother of four children myself, three of which are school age and in the Greenwich Public Schools system, knowing Anna Saras Povinelli is representing our children would be a great comfort to me.
I had the pleasure of meeting Anna through school, and have always respected her point of view, been amazed by her work ethic, and admired her intelligence and understanding of the school system and its challenges. She has been an active volunteer in the school system for the last 11 years and an outspoken advocate for our children. She is a leader, works well with others and always follows through.
Her strong financial background is a huge asset for analyzing our schools budget and thinking of creative solutions to any issues that arise. Having someone working for the board that understands budget issues and constraints is imperative.
Anna Povinelli will work on a bipartisan level and be a consensus builder because for her, its not about politics, its about the best interests of our children. She is results-driven and I am confident that she will deliver on her promise of accountability, transparency and results. Its about time the voter had an opportunity to choose a candidate with her qualifications.
