GREENWICH, Conn. Pet owners who missed out on a chance to show off their pets' costumes this past weekend when Greenwich's Howl & Prowl parade was canceled will have another chance Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Owners and their costumed pets should gather in the Island Beach commuter parking lot at 1 p.m. to view exhibits, hear music and participate in Halloween activities before the parade on Greenwich Avenue.
After the pooches display their costumes for shoppers on the avenue, semi-finalists will be judged at the parking lot. Pets will compete for five prizes, including ribbons and gift certificates to the Pet Pantry Warehouse: first place ($150), second place ($100), third place ($75) and runner- up ($50).
Be sure to dress up as well to compete for a $100 prize for the best combined costume for pets and their owners together.
Participation in the parade is free. Registration for the costume contest is $20. All proceeds go to Adopt-A-Dogs programs. Registration forms are available at Pet Pantry Warehouse locations in Greenwich, Rye and Larchmont and online.
