GREENWICH, Conn. The Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom Dance Studio was alive with dancing, music and mingling as the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce held an after-hours event and introduced its new executive director, Marcia OKane. She is the former executive director of the Stamford Senior Center.
The event was co-hosted by the Arthur Murray Studio and Main Street ConnectYour Home Town Online, publishers of The Daily Greenwich, nine other local news sites in Fairfield County and 32 in Westchester County.
Under the new ownership and management of Christine Georgopulo, a corporate real estate development veteran turned competitive dancer, and now studio president, the Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich welcomes one and all to visit and share its love of dance.
Located a 6 Lewis St. in downtown Greenwich, the studio has been completely redecorated in the Regency period style and is truly a grand ballroom. Georgopulo has introduced several programs, including one for cancer patients at Greenwich Hospital as well as a youth leadership program in partnership with area businesses. Her aim is to find ways for her business to give back to the community.
Among those in attendance on Tuesday was Paul Mercado, vice president of Rand Insurance, Jeff Weber of WGCH Radio, Cindy Kral of the Greenwich Water Club and David S. Rabin from Patriot National Bank, along with many others.
