Greenwich Businesses Decorate for Holiday Contest

GREENWICH, Conn. – Greenwich storefronts are beginning to look their festive best for the annual holiday decorating contest sponsored by the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce.

The competition is open to all local businesses and is not limited to chamber members. Businesses should decorate in the spirit of the holidays to win prizes and recognition at the chamber’s holiday party on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at Samuel Owen Gallery on Greenwich Avenue.

Judging begins Dec. 1 and runs through Dec. 7. Prizes include free advertising on the chamber’s website, 50 percent off a 2012 membership to the chamber and awards at the party.

The town will be divided into four geographic areas for judging: Central Greenwich, Byram/Glenville/Pemberwick, Cos Cob/Riverside and Old Greenwich. Each will have winners in the three categories: best classic holiday storefront, best original holiday storefront and best depiction of the neighborhood holiday storefront.
