An exhibit going up at the Round Hill Community Church Sunday takes visitors on A Spiritual Journey. The show celebrates the work of artist Patricia Gray Redline, whose paintings are said to transport the viewer to an ethereal world of mysticism. The exhibit runs from Feb. 27 through March 30.
Redline said the jewel tones in her paintings are derived from churches in Italy. "The making of art is a process in which the artist becomes unaware of time and of oneself," she said. "The artist is in another world -- a place of freedom and possibility. This is a spiritual experience for me."
In 2004, Redline was honored with a "Who's Who Among America's Teachers" award. The Newton, N.J., artist studied painting and drawing at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and holds a masters degree in fine arts from Tufts University. For more information, call (203) 869-1091.
