George Molinari, 81, Retired Greenwich Draftsman

GREENWICH, Conn. – George Molinari of Greenwich died May 30 at his home. He was 81.

Born April 22, 1931, in Greenwich, he was the son of Patrick and Catherine Olden Molinari. After graduating from high school, Molinari joined the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan.

While in the service, Molinari attended flying school. After his tour in the service, he worked for Teledyne Co. and then the Emery Weighing Co. as a draftsman until his retirement. His favorite hobbies were gardening and making beautiful crafted furniture in his workshop. 

Molinari is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gloria; a daughter, Karen Clark and husband  Kevin of Cheshire; a son, John Molinari, of Greenwich; and four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousin. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Molinari; and a brother, Frank Molinari. 

Family and friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Church in Greenwich. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
