Frank Reichert, 88, Greenwich WWII Veteran

GREENWICH, Conn. — Frank X. Reichert of Greenwich died May 28 at Stamford Hospital. He was 88.

Born Aug. 6, 1923, in Greenwich, he was the son of Frank and Mary Reichert. During World War II, Reichert served in the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Thunderbird Division in the U.S. Army.

After retiring from the U.S. Postal Service, he started The Reichert Company, an oil distribution business. Reichert was a longtime volunteer with the Boy Scouts in Greenwich and a member of the Ishoda Yacht Club in Norwalk, Darien Veterans of Foreign Wars and Glenville Vets. He was a past commodore for the Ponus Yacht Club in Stamford and the Cos Cob Yacht Club.  

He is survived by his wife, Doris G. Reichert; a daughter, Ellen Reichert of Norwalk; a son, David (Barbara) Reichert of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. 

Calling hours will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Lacerenza Funeral Home in Stamford. A prayer service will be conducted at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
