Fire Station to Open its Doors

To treat your children or to satisfy your own inner child — and to learn about fire safety — you and your family can find out what it's like inside a fire truck and a fire station at the Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company's open house Sunday.

Cos Cob District Chief John Pugni invites the community to tour the station, meet the firefighters, learn about fire safety and have a great time.

The open house is in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, which is from Oct. 3 to Oct. 9. This year's theme is "Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With."

The campaign is designed to teach people the importance of smoke alarms and encourage safety precautions in the home. The Cos Cob station will have a smoke house for people to see what it is like inside a burning building and lectures on how to stay safe during a fire.

The Cos Cob station will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 203-622-3972
