GREENWICH, Conn. -- Kathie Lee Gifford poured GIFFT wine, celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson of Harlem's Red Rooster talked inspiration at a panel discussion, and hundreds of area residents sampled, sipped and enjoyed the sun at the Sixth Annual 2016 Greenwich Wine +Food Festival.
The event, held Sep. 24 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, featured more than 200 area venues and attracted hundreds of local foodies.
Among those in attendance: Darien Social, The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood, Sweet Lisa's Cakes of Greenwich, which made a statement with an Instagram-worthy "Election" cake, and Connecticut Cookie Company founded by Trumbull resident Andrea Greene. The online company has plans to open a store on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield in late fall.
Proceeds from the festival, presented by Serendipity magazine, benefit Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, Wholesome Wave and The Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation.
