Earth Day Month Kicks Off at Greenwich Point

GREENWICH, Conn. – Earth Day Month officially launches Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwich Point with family activities designed to promote responsible stewardship of Greenwich’s natural resources.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei will present the town’s official Earth Day Proclamation at 2 p.m. Representatives of environmental organizations like the Greenwich Conservation Commission and the Shellfish Commission will join members of the Bruce Museum Science and Education departments in the fun and informative family activities at the Bruce Museum’s Seaside Center.

The Seaside Center is an environmental and cultural facility that reopened last year at the Innis Arden Cottage on Greenwich Point. During summer months, visitors to the Point can drop in and explore local shore and marine life through guided nature walks, arts and crafts, and marine life studies. Visitors can also explore the center’s dioramas, interactive exhibits and live specimens in the marine life touch tank and aquariums.

The event is free and open to the public.
