GREENWICH, Conn. Looking for a place to go on the weekend? Need the kids to step away from video games and explore? At Greenwich Library, you can borrow museum and park passes for free.
The passes entitle the user to free or reduced admission to many museums and parks in Connecticut and New York State. The loan period for all passes is seven days, and overdue fines are $1 per day.
To borrow a pass, you must have a Greenwich or Perrot Library card. Replacement costs for lost passes vary and depend on purchase price. Passes cannot be renewed and are circulated on a walk-in basis only, so no reservations can be made. You can call 203-625-6524 and speak with a staff member at patron services to find out if a pass is available. It if is, it will be held for one hour.
Participating museums and parks include: Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Ridgefield; Bruce Museum in Greenwich; Connecticut State Parks and Forests, Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford; Earthplace in Westport; Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme; Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk; Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration in Mystic; Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase, N.Y.; and Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford.
The passes may be checked out at the Patron Services desk at the main library.
