The Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross is calling all eligible donors to participate in the "Battle of the Badges Blood Drive" on Dec. 11. The friendly competition honors the town's emergency responders to see which group can collect the most units of blood.
Participants can donate on behalf of the Greenwich Emergency Medical Service, Greenwich Police Department or the Greenwich Fire Department to help someone in need. The event will be held at the police station from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Bagels and sandwiches will be provided by Cosi, and coffee will be donated by Starbucks.
