Bat's Very Interesting

Get in touch with your batty side during a Friday night hike at the Greenwich Audubon.

Join fellow bat enthusiasts and animal lovers for an evening with education specialist Ted Gilman. Visitors will first learn about bats' way of life and ecology and devastating white-nose syndrome.

"[White-nose syndrome] is really a crisis for bats," said Gilman. "The disease forms a white fungus around the bats face and on their wing membranes. Over the last four years over 1 million bats have died from it."

After learning how bats can be saved and about research being done on the disease, visitors will then venture into one of the main meadows with Gilman at dusk and look and listen for bats in the sky.
