GREENWICH, Conn. -- The AARP Foundation will offer free tax assistance on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. from Feb. 7 through April 11 at the Greenwich Library.
This year, tax assistance will be held in a new location on the first floor of the Peterson Wing near the Local History Collection.
Please bring a photo I.D. along with all income information, any W-2s and last year’s tax return.
There will be no tax assistance on April 4, Easter weekend.
IRS cutbacks have significantly reduced the Greenwich Library’s allocation of hard copy tax materials. IRS seasonal staffing also has been cut, making access to IRS phone help more limited than in previous years.
To print hard copy forms and publications from home from the IRS website, visit www.irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs.
For a complete list of documents required for AARP assistance and additional AARP Tax Aide site locations and hours, visit www.aarp.org/taxaide or call the Library Reference Desk at (203) 622-7910 for more information.
The Greenwich Library is located at 101 W. Putnam Ave.
