Ruby, who grew up in Edgemont and Waccabuc, and lived for years in Greenwich, Conn., runs a Westchester public relations and social media agency, Ruby Media Group. She met Alex Goldman eight years ago and after going on one date together, immediately put him in the “friend” category.
"We've both been really focused on building our businesses and never prioritized love, so we thought this would be a perfect time to give it a chance," said Ruby of the opportunity to "up" their relationship in front of hundreds of viewers. "We've always had a spark as friends and wanted to see if we could take this social experiment to the next level. "
The two got selected through a process that began with a friend of a friend Ruby knew in Los Angeles. And, without revealing too much, she said learned a lot about herself during the process. "Prior to doing the show you could always find me in the office on a Saturday night working. Now, I've learned to try to have a little more work life/balance and prioritize personal relationships," she said.
As for where she'll be on the night of the preview? She and Goldman will be with friends in Manhattan, though come January she'll be at her parents house in Waccabuc.
