The Mega Challah bake will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich and will see 500 Jewish women from throughout Fairfield County come together to bake challah and support Israel.

Challah baking is the traditional bread that Jews eat on the Sabbath and holidays. Women have the special mitzvah of making and sanctifying this bread and do so on Fridays in preparation for the Sabbath.

There are special prayers said over the Challah and a piece is separated and sanctified.

The event begins at 7 p.m.
